CLOSE PROTECTION INSTRUCTOR COURSE – IKMO
Total duration: 32 hours + final exam
Final certification: IKMO Certified Close Protection Instructor
PURPOSE:
Security operators, security personnel, industry professionals, and personal defense instructors, in line with the professional programs in the Protection Security Training sector, IKMO Security discipline, instructor and international expert GM Marco Morabito
- STRUCTURE:
Modules: 3 (1 weekend per month)
Total hours: 32 hours (excluding exam)
Attendance: Saturday 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Location: Genova Academy A.S.D., Corso A. Saffi 46R – Genoa
TECHNICAL PROGRAM (3 MODULES)
- MODULE 1 – Fundamentals of Operational Close Protection
Objective: Acquire the theoretical, operational, and tactical foundations of individual and group close protection.
Introduction to Close Protection: Differences between civilian, VIP, executive, and military escorts
Behavioral codes and security operator profile
Threat analysis: common attacker, armed assailant, attacker
Protection formations (linear, diamond, shield, etc.)
Positioning in public environments and closed spaces
Nonverbal tactical communication (notes)
Dynamic environmental analysis (urban scan & read)
Emergency evacuation techniques
Stress training: VIP protection under pressure
- MODULE 2 – Intervention, Control, and Operational Defense Techniques
Objective: Train in client defense and the management of high-risk situations.
Operational self-defense (empty hands): tactical and anti-aggression strikes
Rapid neutralization of the attacker
Escape, containment, and control techniques (individual and team)
Armed response to threats (with simulated weapons: knife and pistol)
Vehicle Protection: Tactical Exit, Evacuation, Human Shield
Undercover Movement and Body/VIP Shielding
Simulations in Complex Environments: Stairs, Corridors, Parking Lots
Anti-Trap Strategies and Management of the Unexpected
Multi-Operator Intervention: Roles and Coordination
- MODULE 3 – Teaching, Leadership, and Final Exams for Instructors
Objective: To train instructors capable of transmitting the IKMO Close Protection method to civilian and professional operators.

Assertive Communication and Stress Management in Teams
Organizing Realistic Simulations and Stress Training
Practical Test: Conducting a Mini-Lesson and Operational Scenario

Written Theoretical Exam: Principles, Teaching, and Applicable Regulations
Diploma Award and Registration in the IKMO Close Protection Instructors Register
