SYSTEMA INSTRUCTOR COURSE (IKMO)

Duration: 4 modules – Total 40 hours of training + final exam

PURPOSE
To train certified instructors according to the realistic, direct, and adaptive method of the leading Russian schools, in line with the IKMO standards of GM Marco Morabito.

  • STRUCTURE

Modules: 4 (1 weekend per month)
Total hours: 40 hours (excluding exam)
Attendance: Saturday 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Location: Genova Academy A.S.D., Corso A. Saffi 46R – Genoa

 


TECHNICAL PROGRAM (4 MODULES)
 

  • MODULE 1 – Fundamentals of the Russian Systema

Objective: Provide a solid foundation in the philosophy, biomechanics, and breathing of the Systema.

Origins and principles of the Russian Systema
The concept of natural movement
Functional breathing (tactical breathing)
Body alignment and posture
Free body work: balance, falls, rolls
Introduction to strike management (reception and dissipation)
Dynamic relaxation exercises
Basic individual and pair drills

  • MODULE 2 – Self-defense and conflict management

Objective: Integrate the principles of the Systema into realistic self-defense.

Distance and timing management
Defense against holds and blocks (hands, clothing, neck, arms)
Psychological disarmament and de-escalation
Defense against direct and indirect strikes
Disengagement and control strategies
Working in a confined space (walls, obstacles)
Situational drills for stress and improvisation
Introduction to the use of common objects for defense

  • MODULE 3 – Advanced Tactics and Weapon Work

Objective: Develop combat management and weapon work skills.

Work on tension and release during physical contact
Fluid hand-to-hand combat (no predefined forms)
Introduction to ground fighting according to Systema
Use of short and long sticks
Defense against edged weapons
Defense against firearm threats (educational scope)
Multiple attacker work
Urban survival exercises (urban combatives)

  • MODULE 4 – Teaching and Final Exam

Objective: Prepare for teaching Systema according to IKMO standards and evaluate the skills acquired.

Effective Communication and Correction
Managing Students with Different Levels
Preparation for the Practical Exam (Drill, Stress Test, Free Work)
Final Practical Exam
